Citrine
#b09f36
A dark olive-gold, Citrine sits between the mustards and the greens, almost perfectly neutral on the red-green axis but with a strong yellow push. It looks like brass dulled by handling or dried meadow grass. Eosine Pink gives it a surprising, slightly psychedelic lift; Light Glaucous Blue cools it into a soft sea-and-sand pairing; Vandyke Red anchors it with a deep oxblood weight. It measures 2.7:1 on white, too weak for text, while black type on it reaches 7.9:1. It wears well on corduroy, tile glazes, and vintage-style poster grounds.
