Etruscan Red
#c55347
Etruscan Red is a terracotta red-brown of medium lightness, its red lean dominant but tempered by solid yellow, giving it the look of fired clay pots. Nile Blue cools it into a pale, Mediterranean pairing, Corinthian Pink softens it into a family of warm pinks, and Hay's Russet deepens it into rich, earthy layers. At 4.5:1 against white it just qualifies for normal text, and black on it is similar at 4.7:1. It suits floor tiles, plaster walls, pottery and editorial layouts with a classical or archaeological flavor.
