Glaucous Green
#b4cdc2
Glaucous is a botanist's word for the waxy, blue-gray bloom on leaves like eucalyptus or cabbage, and the swatch matches it: a pale, chalky sage with a cool gray cast, softer and grayer than Turquoise Green. Orange and Yellow Orange both crackle against it in a cheerful, mid-century way; Pale Burnt Lake, a deep maroon, gives a quieter, more formal pairing; Sudan Brown makes it earthy. At 1.7:1 on white it is purely a ground color, while black type on it reads at 12.5:1. It suits painted kitchen cabinets, enamelware, and calm bedroom walls.
