Lincoln Green
#555832
Lincoln Green is a dark, khaki-leaning olive with a lot of yellow in it and little brightness, closer to an army blanket than to grass. The name refers to the green woolen cloth once dyed in Lincoln, England. Paired with Pale Lemon Yellow it gains a soft, buttery lift, while Raw Sienna and Brown pull it into earthy, autumnal territory. At roughly 7.4:1 against white it can carry body copy comfortably, but on black it nearly disappears. It suits waxed cotton outerwear, leather goods packaging and library-style wall paneling.
