Pale King's Blue
#a7d4e4
A clear, pale sky blue with slightly more blue than green, Pale King's Blue recalls early morning over a harbor. Next to Vandyke Red it becomes crisp and nautical, Blue deepens it into a classic tonal stripe, and Violet Blue gives a dusky, evening feel. It is a background color by nature: about 1.6:1 against white rules it out for text there, while dark lettering on top of it reads cleanly. Shirting fabric, porcelain glazes and stationery for a seaside hotel are natural homes for it.
