Pyrite Yellow

#cab356

Named after pyrite, the brassy iron mineral known as fool's gold, this swatch has exactly that metallic dullness: a muted mustard yellow, balanced on the red-green axis, with a moderate yellow push. It is less sunny than the pure yellows and closer to old brass. With Calamine BLue it makes a cool, sea-glass contrast, Peach Red brings heat, and Light Brown Drab adds a dusty, mauve-brown softness. On white it only reaches 2.1:1, so it belongs as fill rather than lettering, while black text on it is comfortable at 10.1:1. Try it in brass-toned hardware schemes, wallpaper grounds, or vintage-style labels.
